Mentha closes Mentha Fund VIII at €370 million hard cap

Mentha Capital B.V. ("Mentha") is pleased to announce the closing of its eighth buyout fund, Mentha Fund VIII, at its €370 million hard cap. The fundraise was oversubscribed and closed 40% above its €265 million predecessor, with strong support from longstanding investors alongside a number of new investors, further broadening and diversifying Mentha’s investor base. The closing coincides with Mentha’s twentieth anniversary. Since its founding in 2006, Mentha has grown into an established lower mid-market investment firm with more than 40 employees across offices in Amsterdam, Antwerp and Copenhagen. Mentha’s current buyout portfolio spans 21 companies across the Benelux and Denmark. In addition, Mentha runs an Impact investment strategy: its first fund, €153 million in size, was launched in 2024 and has made four investments to date.

Fund VIII continues Mentha’s strategy of partnering with entrepreneurs and management teams in the Benelux, Denmark and Germany. Mentha works closely with its portfolio companies to sharpen strategy, strengthen leadership and organisations, and accelerate growth through organic initiatives, buy-and-build and international expansion, with sustainability embedded throughout the investment period.

“Closing our Fund VIII in Mentha’s twentieth year is a clear endorsement of our team, strategy and approach. We are grateful for the continued trust of our longstanding investors and pleased to welcome a number of new investors. With Mentha Fund VIII, we look forward to continuing our mission of partnering with ambitious entrepreneurs and management teams to build great companies.”
