Mentha Capital acquires majority stake in Fri-Jado

Mentha Capital has acquired a majority stake of Fri-Jado, a niche equipment manufacturer, installation- and service provider                                                                                                                 to the food(service) and non-food retail markets. TBI Techniek (“TBI”) will remain as minority shareholder.

Fri-Jado was founded in 1937 and is headquartered in Etten-Leur, with other branches in Moordrecht, UK, USA, and China. The business employs over 500 people.

  • Fri-Jado Euro Products specializes in developing, producing and installing high-quality equipment for preparing, storing and merchandising hot and cold food products worldwide. Products include commercial rotisseries (formerly branded as Euro Grill), heated and refrigerated deli merchandisers, bakery ovens and combi steamers.
  • Fri-Jado Retail installs turn-key refrigeration and freezer units for supermarkets in the Dutch, Czech and Belgium market. They also provide consultancy, engineering and implementation of projects concerning electrical engineering, telematics, climate control, cooling technique, service and maintenance.
  • Fri-Jado Super Service is a brand-independent service organization specializing in the maintenance of professional equipment for retailers, (large) kitchens and catering companies.

The business has experienced strong growth in 2014. Management and employees are aiming to build further on this strong footing over the next few years.
