Introduction

Isovlas develops and sells bio-based insulation material made from the flax plant. The part of the harvest that is not suitable for the linen industry is used by Isovlas to make building insulation. Insulation of homes and buildings is an important measure to save energy. However, the most commonly used insulation materials are polluting: they are made from fossil raw materials or require a lot of energy to produce. For example, a lot of heat is needed to make airy insulation material from glass and stone. In addition to the sustainable nature of bio-based insulation material, Isovlas has other advantages: it is pleasant to work with and offers residents a good indoor climate. It is also just as safe as less sustainable alternatives.

In addition to the standard building insulation product, Isovlas has developed three applications to make the use of bio-based insulation material even more accessible. For the post-insulation market, these are Reno TG and Reno Exterieur, products that allow contractors to efficiently insulate an interior and exterior roof. For new buildings, Isovlas develops and produces prefabricated custom-made roof elements, made of wood and insulated with Isovlas building insulation.

Why Isovlas?

Over the last 25 years, Isovlas has developed into the Dutch market leader in bio-based insulation material. In the meantime, a significant part of the market is eager to switch from traditional building materials to bio-based products. With its products and the established trust of the market, Isovlas is excellently positioned to achieve this transition. Together with Mentha Impact, Isovlas wants to become the standard in insulation in the Netherlands. In addition, we want to introduce other countries to the benefits of flax insulation. Along the way, we contribute to reducing CO2 emissions in the construction sector with every square metre of biobased material sold.
